This smoky Chipotle BBQ Sauce brings the heat and the sweet! It’s rich, tangy, with a smoky kick from chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, balanced perfectly by brown sugar and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Perfect for brushing on grilled meats, dipping fries, or jazzing up burgers. Bonus? You can whip it up in under 30 minutes with pantry staples!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine:
  2. 1 cup ketchup
  3. 2 tbsp tomato paste
  4. 2–3 chipotle peppers in adobo, minced (more for extra heat)
  5. ¼ cup brown sugar
  6. 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  7. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  8. 1 tbsp molasses
  9. 1 tsp smoked paprika
  10. ½ tsp garlic powder
  11. ½ tsp onion powder
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  14. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  15. Taste and adjust seasoning. Blend for a smoother texture, if desired.
  16. Let cool, then store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
