Mozzarella sticks are a popular appetizer that are easy to make at home. This recipe uses string cheese and a crispy coating for a delicious snack.

  1. Cut the string cheese sticks in half and set aside.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third shallow bowl, place the bread crumbs.
  5. Dip each piece of cheese in the flour mixture, then the beaten eggs, and finally the bread crumbs, making sure to coat each piece thoroughly.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot over medium heat.
  7. Once the oil is hot, fry the cheese sticks in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
