  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the yellow cornmeal, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten egg, milk, and vegetable oil.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.
  5. Insert a toothpick into each mini hot dog.
