Fried Calamari is a classic appetizer that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. This recipe features crispy calamari rings and tentacles that are seasoned with garlic and paprika.

  1. Rinse the calamari rings and tentacles under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.
  4. Working in batches, coat the calamari in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  5. Fry the calamari in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried calamari to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Repeat the process with the remaining calamari.
  8. Serve the fried calamari hot with lemon wedges on the side.
