This banana bread recipe is my go-to for a comforting treat that’s soft, perfectly sweet, and incredibly easy to make. The secret? Overripe bananas for that natural sweetness and moist texture. Whether you enjoy it plain, with butter, or a drizzle of honey, it’s always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
  4. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  5. Stir in the melted butter.
  6. Add the brown sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  7. Combine the Dry Ingredients:
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and flour.
  9. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures:
  10. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  11. Gently fold in the sour cream until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  12. Prepare the Baking Pan:
  13. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  14. Bake:
  15. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  16. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  17. Cool and Serve:
  18. Remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  19. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
